FIRST LET ME SAY THAT I AM THE LUCKIEST MAN IN THE WORLD
TO HAVE MY WIFE IRENA.
She’s not only my Soulmate but also Accompanies my Singing on the Piano.
Now About Me….. at Warp Speed!

I grew up on the streets of New York at times living in the New York City Subway System. Came out of an Orphanage,
“The Pride of Judea Children’s Home” 1000 Dumont Ave., East NY Brooklyn. Never got to finish high School. Worked in the Pressroom of the New York Times 16 to 26yrs old

At 27 I opened up the Verona Billiard Parlor on Bloomfield Ave., Verona, NJ
My pool room and I were mentioned on the NJ Gangster TV Show the Sopranos… enough said;

At that time had 3 other businesses and lots of employees and poverty never again.

About 35 I Moved to beautiful San Diego, found out I had a talent for
Invention and Spatial Design. 1987 invented a way to make positives for screen printing using a computer (at that time most didn’t know what a computer was). With this invention, I changed the Screen-Printing Industry forever! I became the CEO and founder of
Vital Laser Type, 70 US based employees, occupied the whole 10th floor of the Security Pacific Bank Building close to downtown San Diego, with satellite offices in Europe!

I remember sitting in my Executive Chair looking out my Office Window (Spectacular San Diego View) and thinking, how the..***. did this all happen to me? Seems like yesterday I was sleeping in the NY Subway looking to score my next meal.

I Have been awarded 4 United States Patents one of them now part of Photoshop.

Started many businesses, have employed 100s of people.

But then one day, a very significant life changing event happened.

I walked into the Red Fox Inn to celebrate my 60th birthday
The open mic piano player asked “would I like to sing a song?”
I had never sang a song in my life!
But because someone dared me and I’m from New York, I don’t like being called “chicken”, the best I could muster up was …
“I’ll be back next week, with a song because I don’t know any songs NOW”.

I came back the next week with “Summer Wind” memorized after listening to Frank Sinatra a couple of Thousand Times.
You only get one song, thank Goodness, because 1 is all I had Memorized!

When I finished there was silence, not a clap, I thought (was I that BAD?) Then the people all stood up like they were coming out of a trance and applauded Loudly! A standing O for me, On MY first song, I was Hooked on Singing, like it was an intoxicating opiate,
Even more amazing a woman came over and says she is from Loews Coronado Hotel and she is out scouting for talent, says she loves my Singing Style, hands me her card and wants to Hire me!
I haven’t Stopped Singing since.

Now I’m 81 on Oct. 1 Wife 72 and have over 150 songs memorized that I can perform on the spot!

I just love SINGING To You! And my Wife’s Spectacular Piano is there also for Your Enjoyment and Amazement.

Born and raised in Soviet dominated, communist Gdansk, Poland, Irena Markoff fulfilled a life long dream of obtaining freedom by escaping to the USA in 1984. To those who have heard and seen her play it is obvious that the defection of this fomer child prodigy at the piano and her subsequent obtainment of US citizenship status, represents a true acquisition of musical talent for our country!

She also holds a graduate degree in electronic engineering from Gdansk Polytechnic and has received a letter of accommodation for her work with the USA military.

She now devotes full-time to piano, recording her music and accompanying her husband, singer, Jay Markoff.

Seeing Irena play, is as important as hearing her. No- it’s not her chiseled features and European good looks we’re talking about. It’s her magical gymnastic like FINGERS!. Naturally elongated and gifted by the Lord, Irena’s fingers are truly amazing to watch. Bringing on WOWS even from people who never thought that they liked classical music!

Whether it’s Gershwin, Chopin, or Scott Joplin try to visually follow her fingers if you can, watch them fly! They treat the audience to phenomenal display of super human coordination, speed, and dexterity mixed with sensational, musical emotionality.
